Obituary of Bobby Jackson Newsome

Bobby Jackson Newsome, 88 of Talladega, passed away at his residence March 22, 2024, Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Bobby was born in Talladega County on July 5,1935. He graduated from Winterboro High School in 1954 and served in U.S. Army for two years and ten months. He worked for Standard Oil for 5 years and retired from Kimberly-Clark and Alliance after thirty-two and half years. He served on the boards of directors of Coosa Pines, and Coosa Valley Electric. Mr. Newsome is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Jessie Mae Newsome, grandson Wesley Alan Newsome, brothers Ronnie Duke Newsome, Edward Thomas “Buddy” Newsome (Ruth), Harry James Newsome (Brenda), sister Wanda Wren Newsome Burt (Terry), brother-in-law Floyd Williams. He is survived by his wife Betty Newsome, sons Darryl Newsome (Sandra), Jeff Newsome (Susan), daughter Melanie Pack (Scott), brothers Michael Newsome (Lisa), Kenneth Newsome (Carol), sister Myra Williams, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct services.
